Beyond your eyes in me

In your eyes there is much more to feel than to see,

a deep compassion calling out to be free.

Looking back for a moment I see how much you’ve been,

making me see who I was in a love without ends.

In your heart you proved to me how I could love,

even when I didn’t feel like very much.

Making my soul beautiful beyond my hiding place,

when all things vanished it was your lips I could taste.

In your arms you let me know all would be okay,

as my tears fell you wiped them all away.

Memories haunting me only forcing me out,

as pain taught me how much love was about.

In your soul I have always been so much more,

holding me close as life’s tests washed upon my shores.

Where I couldn’t see past the tip of my nose,

unable to bend before I found my Rose.

In your love I find all that I will ever need,

by wanting what I have in my eyes now I see.

Knowing me well enough to teach me from the start,

finding me broken, healing my heart.

In your eyes my love I will always see you shine,

more each day, past the ends of time.
