Waking to you

All dreams drifting deeper down drowning despairing,

holding hopes heavy as horizon’s heart says hello.

So lost in your breath as your eyes open to me,

everything makes sense in your arms.

Nothing holds my heart the way that you do,

the fear of losing light lets go of all pain.

Willing hearts breaking just to taste love,

on the tip of my tongue your smile rests.

Kiss me so deep, hold me so close,

I will not let go of your eyes.

Just to see you here as I wake,

to envelope your scent in my eyes breaking hopelessness.

Falling away to the dreams of today to find reality,

knowing only your touch so cold, your kiss so warm.

Waking up to light inside of my heart bearing walls,

feelings so still they stand in my moment with you.

Hot waters freezing the past behind,

taking you for this, knowing only your reality.

Shadows causing depths to subside with tears broken,

I wake up to not a dream, but a beautiful reality.
