What is in my tears

A single thought or feeling bringing to mind,
mistakes made that are never left behind.
Found in the heart before coming through your eyes,
revealing the sorrow felt from deep inside.
Pain killing hopes unsure in the night,
taking away the feeling you once had in the light.
As I sit here alone in this silent room I see nothing but agony,
trying to keep my heart closed but it is all I can see.
Not truly understanding of what is going on,
feeling so broken by what I didn’t see as wrong.
I know love in a way that I could never quite get,
finding life is over, seeing that this is it.
Before I sleep eternity in darkness and so cold,
I had a love to call my own, I had a love to hold.
Dreams shatter under the skies I used to know so well,
waking up no more inside of this lonely hell....
