Inlay my heart

In some sort of fleeting sorrow you found me,

no love in my eyes just an empty man.

Bleeding, broken, forsaken by the gods my life,

heartless flames burning my soul in heaven.

Point of view tainted by the shadows in which I lay,

resting in wait for who I would be known in you.

Room only for one tested by my fears in this pain,

drying the tears I felt raining down inside.

How did you find me, what did you see that made you care,

indifference made my way into the dreams we now share.

Your eyes called me beautiful in a way none could see,

beyond my evilness was this twist of goodness now light.

Wrong I have been in believing I was ever alone,

just the path I chose to tread inlay my denial.

Notwithstanding the painful pleasures known as love,

in my heart now I feel who I am only within your arms.

In melting your touch creates a light I want to die in,

never giving up on me you taught me how I could love.
