Fingers on the glass separating touch,
lost in what feels like her shadow.
She cries for him to see her again,
without the painful promises broken.
He reaches her dreams falling deeper,
a letter signed with his name.
On her chair by the door she smiles,
each hint of love left behind.
Scented with his touch she desires,
remembering the first time they kissed.
All of her thoughts are on his love,
behind broken glass where she waits.
Unable to see behind the cracks,
prism of light caused by pain.
Rain covers her eyes crying clouds,
a knock on the door wakes her soul.
Open to find he is waiting,
she holds on as he won’t let go.
Fingers on the glass he remembers,
on the same side this time.
In his arms her body caressed,
no more time behind broken glass.
