Rest your heart

Sleepless and in pain her heart resides on her sleeves,

holding back her tears for as long as she can.

Waiting hopelessly devoured by pain,

memories calling out the nightmares existence.

Put away your eyes before my tears cause your rain,

cloud my hopes to find I am always here for you.

Rest your heart on my hands I will not let you fall,

give your ache to me let me show you how I love.

Squeezing her pillow to take the grief she fades,

into a sleep where sleep doesn’t matter.

All eyes are upon her alone she lays in bed,

silence loudly speaking of waters far away.

Cry me a river of blood to know where your home is,

in my eyes you see the reason, in my hands you know my warmth.

Rest your tears in my eyes my storm will carry all away,

feel the pressure end as my life takes apart the start.

Lift up your hopes to dream my nightmares drifting light,

break away the essence to understand my love.
