Silent heart

Silent my heart has become next to you,

lips moving still my touch cannot feel.

Lights are on as darkness closes in,

around me inside everything clear.

I wonder how my heart rests in your hands,

like a flower burning to see the day again.

Each petal softer than the next,

pricked by the thorns I have longed for.

In you I have more than I have wanted,

life giver you are to my dying eyes.

No tears left when home inside with you,

all that is inside of me now is poison.

Alone with your touch I am still in time,

crashing down around me is this dream.

I see your face and all is made to understand,

as you sleep in the warmth my body gives you.

Can you hold me beyond the shame I once walked,

if I am able to let my conscience go in your arms.

Swells force their way upon our shores,

moon ever changing the light we see.

In this way I know the path set for me to wander,

always leading me back into your loving embrace.

I feel you look into my soul knowing I was made for you,

in this pain I writhe in, I am completely yours to tame.
