Out of the shadows

Out of the shadows is the home I have always waited for in you,
hard to even imagine I was alive before today.
So many years gone, so much time waited for this moment,
I feel in you a life that gives me reasons for more,
hopes and fears become my dreams as I wake up by your side.
There has been times of great pain and I am sure more will come,
but there is comfort in our love just to know we will survive.
I have been in the dark for so long that your light blinds my eyes,
hard to see past this feeling we share tonight as one.
I have known grief and sorrow before I ever knew love,

Out of the light we found the shadows we will always share in life,
darkness becomes us, light overwhelms our eyes.
You smell like the flowers giving beauty to this world,
I desire to make sure your garden will always grow.
I will hold you close forever no matter how much pain I feel,
to love you when you cry, to love you when you laugh.
I hear you in ways I was always so deaf to before now,
I see into you what has not been seen by anyone.
I am the man before your heart bleeding in your soul my love,
