A Christmas wish

I see you there watching me imagine my dreams,

of you whispering in my ear the love that you give.

I taste the chocolate on your lips as you smile,

kissing away the eve of a Christmas shared with you.

I have no wishes but the one waking up in your arms,

how closely I hold you before unwrapping your body.

A soft touch on your face my fingers melting within,

unable to feel the day for the night is still my guide.

I look into the stars hoping one will fall my way,

so this wish I have for Christmas could somehow be made clear.

In this moment I realize a star did fall towards me,

laying here beside me as all of my dreams fade away.

You are the wish and my star the only gift I need,

desires have never known what this is I have in you.

To see your eyes looking into mine as our tree sparkles and shines,

so much beauty held within a single stare shared with you.

When I hear you speak my name all sound are in the distance,

watching in slow-motion your lips curve my way.

I wish a wish upon my Christmas heart bearing your touch,

when I wake I only want you under my tree.
