In my eyes is love

In my eyes there has been so much grief,

at times I find my heart a curse.

Deadly hopes breaking who I am,

waking up to falling asleep.

In my eyes I have seen too much pain,

with a mask I try to hide my fears.

Never fully understanding as to why,

why I must be the one that sees these things.

In my eyes I have seen the beauty of love’s smile,

so warm in the winter and cool in my spring.

Seeing the passion felt within lives so trivial,

making things matter no matter how small.

In my eyes I have tasted defeat so strong,

boosting me up to a realm of true love.

Only in my feelings have I seen such light,

taken in as a child longing for hope.

In my eyes there is something only one has known,

the desires in my heart bleeding out on paper.

When nothing lights the way but my shadow,

in time that sees all things never spoken.

In my eyes there is love waiting for love,

holding my heart in the palms of her hands.

Seeing me for who I am inside,

loving me as my love for her ignites.
